My Story

I wasn't born knowing how to manage money.

Like many people, I learned through experience, and sometimes the hard way.

In my early twenties, there was a week when my husband and I didn't have enough money for groceries. We used a Texaco credit card at the convenience store, hoping the purchase would clear because there was just enough credit left.

I still remember that feeling.

Not just worrying about money but wondering how we'd make it to the next paycheck.

I promised myself I never wanted to feel that way again.

Over the years, we worked hard to change our financial future. In our thirties, we discovered Dave Ramsey's debt snowball method, which gave us a plan to eliminate debt and regain control of our finances. It was life-changing, but it was only the beginning.

Getting out of debt isn't the same as building wealth.

As my husband built our seasonal business and I continued my career in banking, we learned how to budget through fluctuating income, save intentionally, and think beyond simply making it through the month. My banking career gave me a deeper understanding of personal finance, risk management, and long-term planning, and together we began building a financial life with purpose.

More than twenty-five years in banking reinforced something I had already learned firsthand:

Financial confidence doesn't happen by accident.

It comes from having a plan, building good habits, and making informed decisions consistently over time.

Then, in 2023, my husband passed away unexpectedly.

No financial plan can remove the pain of losing someone you love. But I learned something incredibly important: financial preparation creates stability when life feels anything but stable.

Because we had organized our finances, planned ahead, and made intentional decisions over the years, I was able to focus on healing instead of wondering how I was going to pay the bills or make ends meet.

That experience confirmed what I had believed for years.

Financial confidence isn't just about money.

It's about creating options, reducing stress, and giving yourself the freedom to navigate whatever life brings.

That's why I created the SoLuna Financial Framework.

Not to teach complicated financial strategies, but to help women master their personal finances, eliminate debt, grow wealth, and build a secure financial future, one practical step at a time.
